With the cold winter months approaching, many sellers are eager to find their dream home. This is a great time to invest in real estate - but with that, there are some challenges that come with selling your house in the winter.

1. Snow Removal - One of the biggest hurdles for people who sell their home during the winter is figuring out how to remove snow from their property so potential buyers can have an idea of what it looks like inside. A few things to keep in mind when selling your home in the winter are:

a) When you make your home available, make sure you have a “high-traffic zone” around the house. This is the area that you will be showing the house. If you’re showing the house during the day, set up your “high-traffic zone” around the home before it gets dark. If you show it in the evening, do so at a time when it’s not dark outside. If you live in a city, you may want to consider putting up a “high-traffic zone” around your home up to 3 days out. This might mean increasing the price of your home. Remember that a lot of people are not willing to go through the hassle of shoveling out their driveways.

b) Consider hiring a professional snow removal company to do the work for you. There are several companies that offer snow removal services for a reasonable price. Be sure to ask your real estate agent to recommend a company they’ve used before. The main thing to keep in mind is that you want the snow removed before you show the house.

2. Keep it heated: - If you plan on selling your home in the winter, you want to make sure that the heat is on. Many people don’t realize that they might need to make repairs on the property before it is on the market. If you have a heater in your home, make sure that the pilot light is lit, the thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature for the season, and the heat and the furnace are in good working condition. Don't make to hot or cold room temp temperature is inviting to all guest.

3. Have The Home Ready: - If you’re selling your home in the winter, you may want to make sure that you have the house ready for showings. This could include cleaning the inside and outside of the home. If you have any holes or stains on the walls, it’s best to have them fixed before it gets cold outside. You can get professional help from a handyman or do-it-yourself.

4. Clean The Home: - If you’re selling your home in the winter, it’s a good idea to clean the home. Clear any clutter and tuck it away including the yard before its too cold outside to find anything. This could include cleaning the windows and cleaning the oven. Not only will it help your home look its best, but you can also get rid of any smells.

5. Be Optimistic: Many signs may have come down in the neighborhood. That's not a bad thing. It just mean there is less competition for your home to reach the highest price offering.
